Spine SBRT has a relatively low risk of vertebral compression fracture (VCF). However, this study took a look specifically at patients over 70. It included a whopping 252 patients and 580 spine segments. The most common regimen was 24 Gy in 2 fractions (43.8%) followed by 30 Gy in 4 fractions (30.3%). The cumulative risk of VCF was 8.4% at 12 months and 12.3% at 24 months. Factors significantly associated with VCF were BED, the presence of a fracture at baseline, and increasing age. The risk increased from 11.2% for those under 86 to 30.3% in those over 86. | Chan, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2024
