As wild as it may sound, a large Chinese prospective trial randomizing 210 patients receiving standard upfront chemoimmunotherapy for stage IIIC-IV non-small cell lung cancer 1:1 to receipt of systemic therapy before versus after 3 pm produced a doubling of both disease-free and overall survival times in the early group (we’re talking a median DFS of 13 versus 6.5 months, respectively). The authors hypothesize the astounding results are due to the dramatic influence of circadian rhythms on T cell populations, and we hypothesize the results to be widely-circulated by infusion staff everywhere. | Zhang, ASCO 2025
