Patients on androgen deprivation therapy often suffer from fatigue and changes in body composition that adversely affect quality of life. STAMINA was a randomized, phase 3 trial that sought to determine if a 12 month fitness intervention could improve quality of life and reduce fatigue in patients receiving ADT. It included 700 patients receiving ADT for prostate cancer who were randomized to usual care or the STAMINA lifestyle intervention. The intervention consisted of a 12 month trainer-supervised aerobic and resistance exercise regimen as well as a complimentary 12 month gym membership and dietary advice. At 12 months, patient reported quality of life was significantly better in the exercise intervention group. Secondary physical outcome endpoints, such as body composition and blood pressure, will be reported in the future. | Bourke, Lancet Oncol 2026
