The recent annual report on cancer outcomes from the American Cancer Society showed significant improvements in all-cancer survival. This accompanying editorial!https://acsjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.3322/caac.21877 outlines ways we can turn passive optimism about the future into more active hope. The latter is a more systematic approach to planning for and realizing positive outcomes. However, we must remember, as outlined in the ACS report, that not all cancer populations have seen improvements in recent years. For example, cancer incidence rose among younger women and for disease sites such as pancreas, uterus, oral cavity, and liver. | Corn, CA Cancer J Clin 2025
