Renal cell carcinoma includes clear cell (75–80%) and heterogeneous non–clear cell subtypes. While surgery remains the standard treatment for all localized RCC, stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) is increasingly used for medically inoperable patients given high local control and preservation of renal function. A large international retrospective study of 211 patients with localized RCC treated with SABR reveals cancer control and survival were excellent and did not differ between clear cell and non–clear cell histologies, supporting the hypothesis that SABR efficacy is largely independent of tumor histology. | Ali, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2026
