A propensity-matched retrospective look at an international database demonstrates use of GLP-1 agonists compared with other or no antidiabetic therapies among patients with both type-II diabetes and brain metastases resulted in significantly lower risk of death (HR 0.63). This association was largely consistent across primary cancer types and GLP-1 agents. “These results build upon existing evidence that GLP-1 receptor activation modulates pathways relevant to neuro-oncologic health, including attenuation of neuroinflammation, preservation of blood–brain barrier integrity, and reduction of oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction.” | Chi, JAMA Netw Open 2026
