Once considered rare, breast (textured) implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma is increasingly recognized, prompting FDA black box warnings for all (even smooth) implants marketed in the US since 2020, albeit the entity is typically confined to the implant capsule with a favorable prognosis when treated surgically. This SEER data produces the first formal incidence estimate at 27 per 100 million in 2022, far exceeding the former FDA estimate of 3 per 100 million, likely reflecting both increased implant use and increased detection over time. | Kinslow, JNCI 2026
