The phase 3 PROTEUS trial demonstrated adding apalutamide to neoadjuvant and adjuvant ADT before and after radical prostatectomy for high-risk prostate cancer afforded the possibility of minimal residual disease at surgery (9% vs 1%) and increased metastasis-free survival at 5 years from 74% to 78%–which is good, but we’ll casually note the rate of 96% achieved with PSMA PET-guided comprehensive radiation with ADT sans androgen receptor inhibitor for a similar cohort of men reported in POP-RT. | Taplin, ASCO 2026
